KATIE McGREGOR TO RUN THE MILLENNIUM MILE 7
2005 10K National Champion to headline women runners in New Hampshire's fastest mile.

Londonderry, NH. The race directors of the Millennium Mile are pleased to announce that the 2005 U.S. 10K National Champion, Katie McGregor will be competing in the 7th Annual Millennium Mile (MM7). Katie joins fellow Michigan Alum and 2-time Olympian Kevin Sullivan as a guest of the Millennium Mile. This will not be Katie's first trip to the Granite State to run the Millennium Mile as the first was back in 2002 when she won the MM3 in record fashion with a time of 4:27 for the downhill course.
Katie McGregor is finishing up her most successful year as a professional runner. In 2005, Katie captured 2 National Championships and represented the United States in 2 IAAF World Championships. In June she won the 10,000m at the USA Track & Field Outdoor National Championships. The victory earned her a berth on the United States National Track and Field Team that competed at the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki, Finland, where McGregor place 14th in a career best time of 31:21 for 10K. She followed up her track season with a victory at the Tufts 10K for Women in October, which served as the 10K National Road Race Championships for women. Earlier in 2005, Katie represented the United States at the World Cross Country Championships in St Galmier, France where she finished 29th overall. Pervious to 2005, McGregor was a 9-time All-American at the University of Michigan. While at Michigan, Katie won the 1998 NCAA Cross Country National Championships and the 1997 NCAA 3,000m Indoor Title. A resident of Saint Louis Park, Minnesota, Katie is under contract with Reebok and trains with Team USA- Minnesota.
Miss McGregor and 2-time Olympian Kevin Sullivan will be signing autographs at 12:15pm at the Reebok Autograph Signing during the race-day registration.

The Millennium Mile is a point-to-point, downhill, 1-mile road race that takes place in Londonderry, New Hampshire on Saturday December 31, 2005 at 2:00pm. In the six year history of the Millennium Mile, there have been 16 sub 4-minute miles run and participants have ranged from age 3 to 79 years young.
