Londonderry, NH. The race directors of the Millennium Mile are pleased to announce that 2-time Olympian and Canadian national record holder, Kevin Sullivan will be competing at the 7th Annual Millennium Mile.
The Millennium Mile is a point-to-point, downhill, 1-mile road race that takes place in Londonderry, New Hampshire on Saturday December 31, 2005. In the six year history of the Millennium Mile, there have been 16 sub 4-minute miles run and participants have ranged from age 3 to 79 years young. The Millennium Mile and it's sponsors could not be more proud than to add Kevin Sullivan to its list of world class competitors.
Kevin Sullivan is a 2-time Olympian (Sydney 2000, Athens 2004), where he competed in the 1,500 meters. His personal best in the mile is 3:50.26. Sullivan holds 7 Canadian national records on the track and has won 15 Canadian National Championships. While competing for the University of Michigan, Sullivan won 4 NCAA titles (1,500m, 1-mile (2), and distance medley relay) and holds the NCAA Record for the indoor 1-mile run. Since 1998, Sullivan has represented Reebok as a professional athlete and his international career is as impressive as they come. He has competed in 21 IAAF World Championships and has run 32 sub 4-minute miles over the course of his career.
Sullivan and his wife, Karen Harvey, the women’s track and cross country coach at the University of Illinois will be honored guests of the Millennium Mile. Kevin Sullivan will be signing autographs at 12:15pm at the Millennium Mile registration on race day.
